Our objectives

The Foundation’s mission is to provide concrete support to vulnerable young people in Laval who are receiving services under the Youth Protection Act or the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

To do so the Foundation has set itself four objectives.

Promoting educational success and retention

Many of the difficulties encountered by young people served by the Laval Child and Youth Protection Center can lead to them dropping out of school. Whether it’s due to learning difficulties or a lack of motivation and self-confidence, the Foundation can support their educational success.

Purchase of school uniforms and supplies

Strengthen self-esteem and overall development of young people

Self-esteem is at the heart of the development of young people’s potential, interests and talents. By facilitating participation in varied, positive experiences, the Foundation enables children to develop their potential and open up to the world.

Sports activities and purchase of equipment
Artistic and cultural activities
Day camps and summer camps

For pre-schoolers, the Foundation ensures that families are able to offer the stimulating experiences essential to toddlers’ development.

Purchase of games

Ensuring the path to independent living on the threshold of adulthood

Following a period of institutionalization, some young people find themselves on their own, without the support of a family environment, and faced with the challenge of becoming independent as soon as they reach the age of majority. Access to an apartment and a job represents a huge challenge that the Foundation can help to alleviate.

Post-secondary scholarships
Apartment starter kits
Financial support

In partnership with the Cité de la santé Foundation, Projet Clé offers concrete solutions to young people who want to continue their post-secondary studies, who are about to leave the Youth Center and who find themselves without any family support.

Annual scholarships until graduation
Personalized mentor support during studies

Supporting the family environment to avoid child placement

During a child protection intervention, families may be in crisis or in serious distress. A respite service, which can take a variety of forms, sometimes even lasting a few days, can help them overcome this episode and avoid placing the child in care.

Resources offering respite care for parents
Summer camps for kids

Concretely, the Foundation finances projects for young people. Here are a few examples.
