Our objectives

The Foundation’s mission is to provide concrete support to young people from Laval in vulnerable situations who receive services under the Youth Protection Act or the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

To achieve this, the Foundation has set four objectives.

Encourage educational success and perseverance in school

Many challenges faced by the youth served by the Laval Child and Youth Protection Center can lead to school dropout. Whether due to learning difficulties or weakened motivation caused by a lack of self-confidence, the Foundation can support their educational success.

Homework support and tutoring
Awarding scholarships
Meritas awards
Graduation ceremony
Payment of transportation costs
Purchase of uniforms and school supplies

Strengthen self-esteem and overall development of young people

Self-esteem is at the heart of developing the potential, interests, and talents of young people. By facilitating participation in diverse and positive experiences, the Foundation enables children to develop their potential and broaden their horizons.

Sports activities and purchase of equipment
Artistic and cultural activities
Day camps and summer camps

For preschool-aged children, the Foundation ensures that families are able to provide the stimulating experiences essential for the development of young children.

Caretaking fees
Parent-child workshops
Purchase of games

Ensure the transition to independent living on the verge of adulthood

After a period of placement in an institutional setting, some young people find themselves on their own, without family support, and faced with the challenge of becoming independent as soon as they reach adulthood. Finding access to an apartment and a job represents an immense challenge that the Foundation can help alleviate.

Post-secondary scholarships
Apartment starter kits
Financial support

In partnership with the Fondation Cité de la Santé, the Clé Project offers concrete solutions to young people who want to pursue post-secondary education as they prepare to leave the Youth Center and find themselves without any family support.

Annual scholarships until graduation
Personalized support from a mentor during studies

Support the family environment to prevent the placement of children

During a youth protection intervention, families may be in crisis or experiencing acute distress, making respite services – offered in various forms, sometimes even lasting a few days – an effective way to help them overcome the situation and avoid the placement of the child.

Summer camps for kids
