I'm making a successful transition to independent adulthood

After a period of placement in an institutional setting, some young people find themselves alone, without family support, and faced with the challenge of becoming independent as soon as they reach adulthood. Accessing an apartment—along with all the preparation, organization, and equipment needed to settle in properly—represents a significant challenge that the Foundation helps ease through the “I’m making a successful transition to independent adulthood” project.

The Foundation has created “Support Baskets,” which are distributed to all young people leaving the Laval Child and Youth Protection Center. These baskets contain various essential items and products to help them settle into their apartments. Additionally, these young individuals receive a $200 gift card for their “First Grocery Shopping”, as well as a $500 check to meet various needs as they transition to independence.

The ultimate goal the Foundation aims to achieve is to provide three months of paid rent and covered groceries during the first year in an apartment for each of these young individuals !

Your donations will be used in various ways:

  • Gift cards for the first grocery shopping
  • Purchase of necessary items based on individual needs
  • Purchase of furniture and appliances
  • Financial support

What the Foundation offers you in return:

  • Annual reporting on the use of your donations
  • Visibility
  • Participation in our annual event
  • And more, depending on your level of involvement
